The contest is sponsored by Canon USA and the magazine is one that is about, and for, the "emerging professional photographer".

A total of 21,300 entries from 24 countries were received, and 7% were selected as finalists by the publication's Photo Editor, Nell Campbell. First through Fourth place winners, plus 100 honorable mentions will be selected from the Finalist group by three distinguished judges: Nick Dekker - Brooks Institute of Photography, Steve LaVoie - Art Center School of Design, and Amy Kawadler - Canon USA. The contest accepted entries relating to all styles and genres of photography and this is Robisch's second consecutive selection as a finalist. "I am flattered that my work has been recognized by an established and highly-esteemed publication", stated Scenic Prints owner and photographer, Chris Robisch.
